Getting to Kalkan
Two airports serve the region, and the coastal drive is part of the trip — here's how the routes actually compare.

By air
Dalaman (DLM) is the closer airport, around 115–135 km from Kalkan depending on the exact route — about an hour and twenty minutes to an hour and three-quarters by road. It's the busier option in summer, with direct charter and budget flights from across Europe.
Antalya (AYT) is a bigger, year-round international hub, but further away: roughly 200–215 km, or three to three and a half hours by road. The D400 coastal highway between them runs through Kemer, Demre and Kaş, with a winding, cliff-hugging stretch between Demre and Kalkan that's scenic but slow going — worth building into your schedule rather than treating as a quick transfer.
Transfer options
- Private transfer or VIP taxi — door to door from either airport, the most predictable option and worth booking ahead in July–August.
- Shared shuttle — cheaper than a private car, with one or two stops along the way.
- Rental car — most useful if you plan to reach Lycian sites and mountain villages under your own steam once you're here.
- Public bus — possible from Dalaman via the Fethiye otogar (bus station), but slower, with a change involved.
